'Monumentalising James Clerk Maxwell: The Importance of Light in the Edinburgh Statue'

A talk given by Alexander Stoddart, Sculptor in Ordinary to Her Majesty The Queen in Scotland.

In this talk I shall be explaining why the reliefs on the Edinburgh statue of
Maxwell show what they do, why Maxwell is shown holding the colour-wheel
associated with his youth, and why the mathematical physicist is depicted on
the eve of death.
